1) Местоимение any употребляется перед исчисляемыми существительными во множественном числе и неисчисляемыми существительными, если указывает на некоторое количество, а также перед любыми существительными в значении "любой, всякий":I don't need any books — Мне не нужны книги

б) Перед существительными с артиклем или притяжательным или указательным местоимением, а также перед личным местоимением местоимение either употребляется с предлогом of, при этом существительное или местоимение ставится во множественном числе:John and Mary were there, too.
